As the Consultant Health Safety Wellbeing, you will be part of the Health Safety and Wellbeing team in People & Culture.

Each Day, You’ll Go Above And Beyond To

  • Support the effective development, governance and delivery of NAB’s HSW strategy and frameworks.
  • Triage and action incoming HSW requests by providing strategic advice to colleagues and People Leaders regarding risk management needs and prevention activities.
  • Deliver specialist advisory and coaching services to the business to ensure a best practice approach to HSW risk management and wellbeing.
  • Support business leaders and teams to drive improvements in health, safety and wellbeing (HSW) performance and ensure they have full visibility of physical and psychosocial risks within their business to ensure business can achieve the best outcomes.
  • Partner with customer facing teams to develop and implement frameworks and supporting process as required, prioritising continuous improvement to enhance the effectiveness of delivery to our colleagues.
  • Provide management of risk assessments to identify, control and mitigate workplace and operational hazards, engaging with teams to validate compliance with policies and procedures ensuring adherence to safety standards and take the lead on investigations into incidents and near misses including injuries and operational events ensuring thorough analysis and development of suitable corrective action plans.
  • Undertake risk assessments and reviews of enterprise HSW risks, along with activities to strengthen the implementation of NAB’s safety management system.
  • Support any HSW internal audits, support external audits and Regulatory inspections as required.
  • Partner with key stakeholders across the business to drive safety prevention activities.

We’re looking for the best and brightest to deliver the best for our customers. You’ll need:

  • Demonstrated experience working in a similar Health, Safety & Wellbeing advisory role for a large complex organisation preferably in Professional and/or Financial Services.
  • Experience in coaching, leading and developing stakeholders in safety practices.
  • Strong knowledge of the Work Health Safety Act 2011 (Cth) and Regulations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of risk management frameworks including for psychosocial risks.
  • Sound influencing and strong written / verbal communication skills.
  • Strong execution discipline and service mindset that ensures effective and efficient delivery.
  • Outstanding stakeholder management skills to understand and manage business impacts/needs to achieve positive strategic outcomes.
  • Strong ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and professionalism, leveraging document management systems to uphold integrity and security.
  • Proficiency in supporting complex and comprehensive investigations and presenting findings.
  • Tertiary qualified in Health and Safety or relevant discipline (eg Legal, Risk) and Lead Auditor qualification would be desirable.
