Based in our Melbourne CBD office, this Adviser Support / Strategic Financial Planning role is ideal for someone looking to deepen their technical capability while working closely with senior Advisers & Planners in a collaborative, professional environment.
The Opportunity
As a Strategic Financial Planning support professional, you will act as an extension of the Advisers, providing high‑quality technical, analytical and administrative support that underpins the delivery of strategic wealth advice.
This role is critical to advice quality, compliance and risk management. You will progressively take ownership of advice and planning preparation, reduce adviser workload and contribute to clearer, more consistent and audit‑ready advice outcomes.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting Advisers with strategic planning analysis and advice preparation for high‑net‑worth and complex clients
- Preparing and maintaining SOAs and ROAs, ensuring accuracy, clarity and compliance
- Undertaking financial modelling and analysis, including cashflow modelling, net‑worth analysis, superannuation and retirement strategies
- Supporting superannuation and SMSF advice, including contribution strategies and pension modelling
- Maintaining accurate client records, workflows and file notes to a high compliance standard
- Identifying and escalating compliance or risk considerations early
- Coordinating effectively with Advisers and internal stakeholders to keep workflows running smoothly
- Experience in strategic financial planning / paraplanning, including end‑to‑end exposure to SOAs and ROAs
- Background in wealth management or a professional services environment
- Strong financial planning technical capability, attention to detail and a high level of accountability
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate strategy rationale
- Ability to manage priorities autonomously in a fast‑paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; Xplan experience and familiarity with JBWere systems is advantageous
- Relevant qualifications or studies in financial planning, finance, economics, accounting or equivalent experience
