In the role of Senior Consultant, Simplification you will report to the Head of Improvement & Initiatives and play a critical role in driving operational excellence across NAB. You’ll lead enterprise‑wide diagnostics to identify opportunities to simplify, modernise and improve performance, making a tangible difference for customers and colleagues.

This is a senior, high‑impact role focused on using the right tools, methods and approaches to challenge existing ways of working. You’ll lead diagnostics end‑to‑end, from shaping and problem definition through to solution design, benefits measurement and implementation - addressing all elements of the operating model including process, technology, governance, policy, product and customer experience.

Each day, you’ll go above and beyond to:

• Lead enterprise diagnostics using data‑driven, modern methods to identify efficiency, simplification and performance improvement opportunities.
• Diagnose complex business problems across processes, technology, governance, policy, products and customer and colleague experiences.
• Design pragmatic, value‑driven solutions that improve efficiency, performance and customer outcomes.
• Apply process mining, lean and re‑engineering techniques to uncover insights and quantify benefits.
• Facilitate cross‑functional diagnostic workshops, synthesising complex information into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders.
• Lead diagnostics through all phases including shaping, analysis, solution design, implementation planning and benefits measurement.
• Drive strong stakeholder alignment and accountability across the enterprise, navigating ambiguity with confidence and commercial acumen.
• Ensure robust documentation, reporting, risk mitigation and governance throughout diagnostic and implementation activities.
  
  

What you will bring:

• Strong analytical and cognitive capability, with a proven ability to solve complex problems and create innovative, pragmatic solutions.
• Hands‑on experience delivering diagnostics, process efficiency, re‑engineering or operational improvement initiatives.
• Proven expertise in Lean, Six Sigma and/or Process Mining, with a track record of delivering tangible, measurable benefits.
• Ability to synthesise complex process and performance information and clearly communicate insights to senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated experience leading cross‑functional problem‑solving initiatives through ambiguity in large, complex organisations.
• Strong business acumen and the ability to build trusted relationships across an enterprise.
• Experience in financial services, consulting or other service‑based industries (preferred).
• Advanced qualifications in Process Mining, Lean or Six Sigma (preferred).
