In the role of a Senior Consultant - ESG & Sustainability, you will join the B&PB ESG & Climate Management Team in Melbourne that’s doubling down on customer obsession.
We’re looking for an experienced ESG Risk & Sustainability professional who’s passionate about creating meaningful change. In this role, you’ll influence how our business identifies and manages ESG risks and opportunities, with an emphasis on operational delivery and implementation rather than pure reporting and policy. You’ll support bankers and on occasion our customers with expert advice to deliver great customer outcomes that help shape the sustainability journey for thousands of Australian businesses.

Each Day, You’ll Go Above And Beyond To
- Lead and deliver ESG risk assessments and escalations with accuracy, pace, and commercial acumen, embedding ESG risk into everyday customer decisions.
- Identify emerging ESG risks, regulatory changes, and industry trends, translating complex information into clear, practical insights for bankers and leaders.
- Support frontline teams with actionable ESG risk guidance, tools and training that build capability and enable consistent, high‑quality business outcomes.
- Partner with Risk, Legal, Compliance, Strategy and other stakeholders to uplift ESG Risk frameworks, governance, and end‑to‑end processes.
- Prepare high‑quality written materials, analysis and presentations for senior leaders, forums, and decision‑making committees.
- Lead delivery of strategic initiatives across key ESG themes including nature‑related risk, modern slavery, climate transition, and other sustainability themes.
- Experience in ESG Risk, sustainability, risk management or consulting within financial services or a similar corporate environment, with a strong applied or operational focus.
- Solid expertise in ESG and sustainability issues, including nature‑related impacts, human rights risks, climate risk, and regulatory expectations.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen and strategic thinking /strategy development, articulating how ESG risk management supports sustainable customer outcomes.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex ESG information, derive insights and communicate clear, practical insights.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with confidence influencing at all levels including senior leaders and explaining ESG Risk concepts to non‑experts.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Environment, Sustainability, Business, Finance, Law, Science, or a related discipline (ESG‑specific learning and direct experience is highly regarded).
