Purpose:
- Working with a team of experienced fixed income (rates & credit) sales dealers.
- Management and execution of our institutional clients' fixed income and hedging needs -with a specific focus on the rates product
- The role has a high degree of direct client interaction and deal execution.
- The key role attributes include the ability to interact with clients in a professional manner, to be efficient in workflow management and work in a team-based environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve financial and all other customer related targets relating to fixed income -with a specific focus on rates.
- Promote engagement and deal flow with key investor clients.
- In conjunction with the HO Fixed Income, develop and execute a clear strategy to enable safe and sustainable growth.
- Engagement across key senior stakeholders to look for strategic opportunities.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with key stakeholders, clients, and internal business partners.
- Ensure the fixed income sales team have an in-depth knowledge of products and focus on value to the customer through sales and service, timely and competitive pricing, product delivery and the right solutions for their needs.
- Contribute to and support a team orientated working environment.
- Maintain a professional standing internally and externally within the wider community
- Proactively manage risk, meeting all policy and compliance requirements; perform controls; adhere to process and procedures pertinent to role; and escalate events, issues or breaches as they are identified (risk accountability forms part of all roles, as everyone is responsible for managing risk and compliance)
- Improve customer relationships through contribution to key client account planning activities & events. Emphasis on client contact across Sales and regular senior stakeholder engagement (at both client and C&IB level).
- Deliver Sales cash earnings plan with a focus on protecting existing franchise and developing new revenue streams.
- Maintain / improve key semi-government panel positions and relationships.
Capabilities & Experience:
- A strong knowledge of financial markets with at least 7-10 years of active participation
- Understanding of global regulatory environment
- Proven influencing and senior stakeholder management
- Strong customer engagement and ongoing relationship management
- Good organisational skills with multiple stakeholders
- Coaching and development of junior colleagues
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
