Our Export Customers Team is on an exciting journey to deliver greater impact for our export customers. We’re looking for a passionate, customer-focused professional to join our Christchurch team as a Customer Manager, with a focus on the Tech sector. You’ll have the freedom to work flexibly, think boldly, and make a real difference for New Zealand businesses on the world stage.
What you’ll be doing:
As Customer Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of helping New Zealand businesses grow internationally.
Your key responsibilities will include:
· Building strong, trusted partnerships with customers (tech, services and manufacturing exporters),
· Gaining deep insight into their business models, challenges, and international ambitions,
· Co-developing tailored work programmes to help them achieve their goals,
· Applying strategic and critical thinking to solve complex problems,
· Connecting customers with the right experts and global networks,
· Collaborating with NZTE colleagues across New Zealand and around the world.
This is a dynamic role where your commercial expertise, creativity, curiosity and passion for New Zealand’s success will be highly valued.
What you'll need to be successful:
We are looking for a commercially savvy leader with a strong background in the Tech sector and a passion for helping New Zealand businesses thrive globally.
You’ll also bring:
· Proven experience in export sales or international business growth,
· Deep understanding of tech ecosystems and business models,
· Strong relationship-building and influencing skills,
· Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently and credibly with stakeholders at all levels,
· Confidence in navigating strategic conversations and leveraging networks,
· A collaborative, team-oriented mindset with a focus on impact,
· The ability to prioritise effectively and deliver results at pace,
· Curiosity, energy, and empathy to challenge and support customers in equal measure.
