One of our early-stage AI portfolio companies building agentic AI solutions for customer service is looking for a commercial finance leader to join the business as a VP of Finance to help build and scale the finance function from the ground up.
Responsibilities
- Own and build the entire finance function — systems, processes, controls, and reporting — from the ground up
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and scenario modelling to support strategic decision-making and capital allocation
- Track and manage SaaS and usage-based metrics (ARR, MRR, NRR, churn, CAC, LTV, contribution margin)
- Manage cross-border operations across multiple regions
- Ensure US GAAP compliance (and ideally IFRS/AASB familiarity), including revenue recognition across multi-element contracts and audit readiness
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders including investors, auditors, and banks
- Work closely with the leadership to drive operational and commercial decision-making through financial insight
Requirements
- Prior experienec in a senior leadership role at a venture-backed, high-growth technology company (AI / SaaS / tech-enabled services preferred)
- Proven track record of building a finance function 0–1 — you've done this before and know what good looks like at each stage
- Deep expertise in SaaS and SaaS + Services businesses looks like would be an advantage
- Hands-on experience managing cross-border finance operations is a strong plus — multi-entity, transfer pricing, intercompany, and US state tax complexity
- Experience supporting a venture fundraise and operating as a credible interface with institutional investors
- Low-ego, hands-on operator comfortable being both the strategist and the executor — you don't need a big team to get things done
