Overview:
Praetorian Aeronautics are currently seeking an Electronics Technician to assist with the testing, manufacturing, and assembly of electronics on Praetorian’s portfolio of products. The role will primarily be focused on building and tracking of our Avionics team’s physical assets.
The successful candidate will:
- Have a basic understanding of electronics and electrical fundamentals.
- Be able to read and understand fundamentals of circuit schematics.
- Communicate complex technical information clearly.
- Be able to collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and technicians.
- Have excellent problem solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
- Have high attention to detail, ensuring all work products meet specification and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assembling and modifying electronics using soldering/rework equipment in a laboratory environment.
- Assembling wiring harnesses using a combination of soldering and crimping techniques according to a specified configuration.
- Assembling Printed Circuit Boards using reflow processes.
- Integrating electronics assemblies.
- Testing electronics assemblies using basic electronics lab equipment such as DC powers supplies, programmable loads, multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.
- Performing inspections on assemblies for compliance with specifications or engineering drawings.
- Troubleshooting issues pertaining to basic electrical and embedded electronics such as short/open circuits, missing or damaged components.
- Safely working with high-energy-density electronics such as lithium batteries and large capacitors.
- Tracking and logging logistics of inventory for prototyping and small-scale manufacturing planning.
- Keeping accurate records of production items.
- Packing and dispatch of goods.
- Upholding a safe work environment in line with our standards and protocols.
- Contributions to continuous improvement of products and processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- An IPC-A-600/610/620 or other relevant soldering or electronics assembly accreditation.
- A strong interest or experience in avionics or Unmanned Aerial Systems.
