We pride ourselves on pushing technological boundaries to deliver cutting-edge solutions that meet the complex demands of our clients.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and capable Project Manager (Level 1) to join our growing operations and delivery team. This entry-level role is ideal for professionals with 1–3 years of experience in project management, preferably in the aerospace, defence, or high-technology sector.

You will support the planning, coordination, and execution of integrated engineering projects, working across hardware and software development teams. The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in project management fundamentals, effective communication skills, and the ability to work in fast-paced, cross-functional environments delivering mission-critical UAS technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and support the delivery of integrated projects across engineering, manufacturing, and test teams.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules, budgets, and resourcing plans using tools like Microsoft Project and Excel.
  • Participate in stakeholder meetings, stand-ups, and design reviews to track progress and identify risks or blockers.
  • Contribute to the preparation of status reports, risk registers, and project documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Apply project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) as appropriate to the scope and nature of individual projects.
  • Facilitate communication across teams to ensure alignment of goals, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Support compliance with relevant regulatory, security, and safety requirements during the program lifecycle.

Essential Selection Criteria:

  • 1–3 years of project management experience in a technical, engineering, or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong proficiency with project planning tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Excel) and collaborative platforms.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across diverse teams.
  • Familiarity with aerospace, defence, or complex product development life cycles.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage timelines, risks, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Australian citizenship and ability to obtain an NV1 security clearance.

Desirable Selection Criteria:

  • Formal certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, AgilePM).
  • Experience working with hardware/software integrated product teams.
  • Exposure to systems engineering environments or unmanned aircraft development programs.
  • Knowledge of defence project environments or regulated development standards.

Employment Screening and Security Requirements

  • Praetorian Aeronautics is committed to maintaining the highest standards of security and integrity in our operations. As part of our employee screening process, the preferred candidate will be required to undergo a police check.
  • Additionally, the successful candidate must be eligible to obtain and hold an Australian Government security clearance. Eligibility requirements include Australian citizenship and the ability to meet security vetting criteria.
