As we continue to grow, we are seeking a commercially minded Management Accountant & Business Analyst to support our finance function and leadership team.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Finance Controller, this newly created role will take ownership of ProSpend's day-to-day finance operations while also supporting management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and business performance analysis.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced accountant who enjoys combining hands-on finance responsibilities with commercial analysis and business partnering.
The role is part-time, 3 days per week, with flexibility around working arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
Finance Operations
· Process and manage payroll.
· Manage superannuation obligations and submissions.
· Prepare and lodge BAS and GST reporting.
· Prepare payroll tax calculations and lodgements.
· Manage month-end close processes.
· Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations.
· Liaise with external advisors and auditors as required.
· Ensure compliance with relevant financial and statutory obligations.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
· Prepare monthly management accounts and supporting commentary.
· Produce monthly KPI and business performance reporting.
· Analyse revenue, gross margin, operating expenditure and profitability trends.
· Prepare variance analysis against budget and forecast.
· Support board and executive reporting requirements.
· Assist with cash flow reporting and monitoring.
Budgeting & Forecasting
· Support the annual budgeting process.
· Work with department leaders to monitor performance against budget.
· Identify financial risks, opportunities and emerging trends.
· Assist with financial planning and scenario modelling.
Business Performance & Commercial Analysis
· Develop and maintain business dashboards and KPI reporting.
· Analyse SaaS metrics including ARR, revenue growth, customer retention and customer profitability.
· Support pricing and profitability analysis.
· Assist with business case development for strategic initiatives.
· Provide insights and recommendations to improve business performance.
· Support ad hoc analysis for the executive leadership team.
Process Improvement
· Review and improve finance processes and controls.
· Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency.
· Maintain reporting templates and financial models.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function.
Skills & Experience
Essential
· Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
· CA or CPA qualified (or nearing completion).
· Minimum 5 years' experience in a Management Accountant, Financial Accountant or similar role.
· Strong understanding of payroll, GST, BAS and payroll tax obligations.
· Experience preparing management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
· Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
· Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
· Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
Desirable
· Experience within a SaaS, technology or software business.
· Experience with Xero.
· Experience building KPI dashboards and management reporting packs.
· Experience working in a private equity-backed environment.
· Familiarity with subscription-based revenue models and SaaS metrics.

· Successfully transitioned ProSpend's monthly finance operations in-house.
· Established an efficient and reliable month-end process.
· Delivered accurate and timely management reporting.
· Improved visibility of business performance through KPI dashboards and reporting.
· Supported the executive team with forecasting, budgeting and commercial insights.
· Become a trusted finance partner to the leadership team.
