The Opportunity
We are looking for a skilled data engineer who is passionate about leveraging data to drive insights and enhance business performance. The ideal candidate will have experience with a range of data engineering tools and technologies, including Databricks, Power BI, AWS, API integration, data lake management, SQL, Python, R, as well as excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. This role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements, design and implement scalable data solutions, and ensure timely delivery of projects.
In this role you will
- Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using Databricks, AWS services (such as S3, Glue, Redshift), and other relevant technologies.
- Design and implement data models and schemas to support analytical and reporting
- Build and optimize dashboards and reports using Power BI for data visualization and analysis.
- Integrate third-party APIs and external data sources to enrich and augment internal datasets.
- Manage and optimize data lake infrastructure to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Take ownership of your backlog and workload, managing priorities effectively to meet project deadlines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues in a timely manner, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
- Utilize Python and R for data analysis, scripting, and automation tasks.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in data engineering and analytics.
What You Bring
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in data engineering roles, with a strong understanding of ETL processes, data modelling, and data warehousing concepts.
- Proficiency in using Databricks for data processing and analytics.
- Experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools for dashboard development and data visualization.
- Strong SQL skills for querying and manipulating large datasets.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services, particularly S3, Glue, Redshift, and Lambda.
- Familiarity with API integration techniques and tools.
- Proficiency in Python and/or R for data analysis, scripting, and automation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage your own workload and priorities in a fast-paced environment, delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Preferred industry qualifications:Experience working with big data technologies such as Spark or Hadoop.
- Knowledge of data security and compliance best practices.
- Certification in relevant technologies (e.g., AWS, Databricks, Microsoft).Experience with other data visualization tools such as Tableau or Looker.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies and practices.
