About you and the team
Reporting to the Head of Finance, this Revenue Accountant role will focus on supporting the business globally as we continue to grow. The Finance team is charged with the execution and strategy for all internal and external financial responsibilities and we are looking for those eager to learn and develop. We lean on automation, data, innovation and a bit of elbow grease to meet our charge to scale ahead of our growth. We work diligently to get things done and have fun while doing it.
What you'll be doing:
- Review complex global sales and grant contracts. Identify and analyze revenue-related issues and recommend solutions.
- Create and maintain contract annex documents surrounding AASB revenue treatment standards.
- Record, reconcile and report revenue transactions in compliance with AASB standards.
- Prepare and maintain revenue, bookings, deferred revenue waterfall, commission and KPI reports for leadership and investors.
- Prepare customer invoices and manage collections.
- Liaison with project managers, sales and other stakeholders regarding projects and contracts.
- Assist with audits, compliance and taxes in relation to revenue. Maintain revenue recognition policies.
- Other duties within the Employee's skills and experience, or with reasonable training.
Ideally you’ll have:
- 5+ years in a position equivalent to a business analysis/revenue accountant or higher responsibilities.
- Strong working knowledge of IFRS/AASB in relation to revenue, knowledge of GAAP helpful.
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills. Exceptional problem-solving skills. You are detail-oriented, self-directed and able to effectively complete tasks accurately with minimal supervision.
- Confidence, adaptability, flexibility to meet changing priorities in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving startup environment and the ability to prioritize workload to achieve on-time, accurate results.
- Experience with Xero, Stripe, SalesForce, Google Workspace - Proficiency in Google Sheets.
