The Opportunity: The purpose of this role is to provide hands-on financial advice and support to the relevant division or function, focusing on financial management, planning, and analysis. This includes managing business profitability, key ratios, balance sheet, and cash flow, as well as supporting the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) manager in expense management and reporting. The role involves conducting financial and budget analyses, trend forecasting, and communicating with key stakeholders to inform and influence business and investment decisions.

  • Location: Sun Prairie, WI (One QBE Way) or Chicago, IL (500 W Madison Street)

  • Work Arrangement: This role is hybrid, where you will be expected to be in the office 2-3 days per week

  • The salary range for this role is $65,500.00 - $98,000.00 (WI) and $71,500.00-$107,500.00 (IL)

Responsibilities:

  • Support the completion of accurate financial reporting metrics by gathering information, performing data entry, verifying accuracy and collaborating with senior analysts and department managers as needed.

  • Facilitate effective decision-making in designated areas of responsibility by analyzing financial information, forecasting business, industry and economic conditions and communicating implications to senior management.

  • Compiles and monitors annual budgets, forecasts and long-term financial plans.

  • Establish and continually modify general accounting procedures and systems to increase the effectiveness of the accounting function.

  • Preparation and analysis of management reporting on Expenses for Board Presentations and monthly Business Reports to the group, along with other ad-hoc reports.

  • Ensure training and knowledge are up to date, including mainframe applications reporting tools and general accounting processes.

  • Manage and develop financial systems and procedures to meet current and anticipated future financial accounting and reporting in line with corporate and regulatory requirements.

  • Provide regular reports, recommendations and interpretations to Senior Management on financial and operating data and variances in the budget.

  • Establish a working relationship with Finance Operations to ensure they are recording expenses consistently and in accordance with the allocations policy.

  • Maintain regular communication with peers across QBE to ensure consistency, transfer of knowledge and promotion of best practice.

Work Experience:

Necessary Work Experience includes:

  • Moderate relevant experience.

Preferred Work Experience includes:

  • Professional experience in a finance role, specifically in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A).

  • Experience in financial planning and analysis within the financial services industry, including expenses management.

Qualifications:

Necessary Qualifications include:

  • Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • Certificates as an accountant.

Compensation Package: The salary range for this role is provided above. This is the national range for location(s) listed. The salary offer will be decided based on the role's complexity, its location, and the candidate’s professional background, including their education and experience. Beyond the base salary, regular full-time and part-time employees will also be eligible for QBE’s annual discretionary bonus plan based on business and individual performance.
