The opportunity
Join QBE as a customer-focused Onsite IT Support Engineer and be part of a highly visible IT support team, providing face-to-face assistance and hands-on technical support across the business.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong IT support experience who’s ready to step up into a more autonomous and varied role in a corporate environment. This role requires full-time onsite attendance.
Your new role
In this role you will,
- Deliver onsite IT support to end users primarily across multiple offices
- Set up laptops, monitors, and other hardware for new starters and large deployments
- Build laptops with the necessary applications (e.g. claims systems)
- Triage and resolve incidents and service requests using ServiceNow
- Work closely with the QBE Network Team on firmware and switch upgrades
- Partner with Facilities on quarterly hardware and electronics checks
- Troubleshoot technical issues both remotely and in-person
- Join regular IT team meetings and contribute to service improvement
- Communicate clearly and proactively during major incidents
- Ensure all work aligns with QBE’s zero-tolerance approach to risk and privacy
About you
We’re looking for a reliable, experienced support engineer with a solid background in IT service environments. You’re a strong communicator, highly organised, and genuinely enjoy helping people solve problems.
You’ll also bring:
- Strong experience in IT support or service desk role, preferably in a corporate setting
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to manage tickets efficiently
- A team-oriented attitude with excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Experience with laptop builds, application installs, and large equipment setups
- Knowledge of ITIL practices and familiarity with ServiceNow (or similar systems)
- Willingness to travel to regional offices quarterly
