Act as main preparer role on various tax return/compliance tasks.
Prepare the working papers, tax returns and/or reports within the agreed deadline.
Prepare clearing journal entries for assigned tax accounts or transactions, as applicable.
Perform the preparation and/or review of periodic tax requirements such as monthly, quarterly and annual tax returns, as applicable
Assist in preparing the quarterly and annual income tax provision
Perform the tax and/or accounting variance analysis/reconciliation process which may include the following:
Beginning Balance Reconciliation
Matching and/or reconciliation of tax balances across various reports (i.e., GL/SL Oracle balances to multiple underwriting systems, as applicable)
Testing for accuracy and/or completeness of tax bases, tax rates per country/state, as applicable
Ageing of Unreconciled Items
Follow-up resolution of outstanding and unmatched transactions with onshore and GSSC counterparts
Completion of Blackline reconciliations, as applicable
Review comments for outstanding items and undertake the required action
Coordinate with counterparties and report status of reconciling items

Based in Manila or Cebu, depending on the requirements, and reporting to the Finance Services Team Lead (TL) – Tax, under the GSSC Enterprise Services (ES) tower.
This role will assist the TL and the Finance Services Operations Manager – Tax (OM) in ensuring that QBE’s tax compliance and reporting obligations are satisfied for all applicable taxes depending on the tax jurisdiction of that country (e.g., income tax, indirect taxes, etc.) for Group and/or its divisions, including assisting with tax audits and the provision of ad-hoc tax advisory to the broader QBE business, with particular focus on high complexity and urgent tasks and/or first-level review role, as applicable.
