Time Type: Full timeWorker Type: EmployeeWorking as part of the Reinsurance Technical Services Team, the Reinsurance Claims Specialist is a multi-skilled role encompassing all aspects of Technical Reinsurance Claims, with subject matter expertise in one or more specific areas. The purpose of the role is to examine, evaluate and process in an accurate and timely manner, and as per the obligations contracted by the company within the reinsurance contract, all agreed premium/agreed claims as well as account statements in accordance with the policy terms and conditions. The team has responsibility for accounts with a high premium value spanning a varied and wide geographic area, and responsibility of the role of the Reinsurance Claims Specialist spans the entire cycle of Treaty Reinsurance contracts.The Opportunity:
We in Dublin are part of the QBE Re, worldwide reinsurer. We are a reinsurance and claims team who support several of our QBE Re offices across Bermuda, Dubai, and Dublin. We have offices located in London, Leeds, Brussels, and New York, servicing the portfolios of the various locations across the world. We are part of the wider Claims team, across multiple locations within UK and the res of Europe.
We handle over 13,000 claims a year and have built a reputation of excellence across the market and we are widely recognised for our technical excellence.
If you are looking to work as part of the Reinsurance Technical Services Team, handling a wide variety of contracts emanating from every continent in the world. The team services accounts which have in excess of USD 200m premium per annum. This an excellent opportunity in a role that provides exposure to worldwide reinsurance claims, with diverse cases, in various jurisdictions with great opportunities to build a worldwide network, interacting with both internal and external stakeholders we would love to hear from you.
Your new role:
- Identify and investigate coverage issues to ensure that the company’s liability is in line with its contractual commitments
- Ensure that claims billings and advice are responded to within agreed timeframes to provide a professional service to clients/brokers.
- Ensure that estimates and billings are calculated correctly by clients and Brokers and that QBE’s share has been correctly calculated.
- Maintain regular contact with customers to achieve maximum cash flow benefit and maintain accurate records.
- Service the requirements of our internal and external clients and embrace the culture that promotes clients come first to provide excellent customer focus
- Produce regular statistical and analytical reinsurance information to Portfolio Managers and Senior Managers to enable effective monitoring of their portfolios
About you:
- Claims experience preferably within Reinsurance.
- Excellent investigative skills
- Effective communication skills
- Able to competently use MS office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Good working knowledge of relevant industry statutes and regulations
- Language skills would beneficial but not essential
