The Opportunity
The life team in Dubai is responsible for the life reinsurance business in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) markets. Your role as a Manager will be to develop market and client management strategies and grow the business of the Life reinsurance across the MEA Region.

You’ll work closely with underwriting, actuarial, and client management teams to deliver tailored products, build strong relationships with key stakeholders, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards—all while contributing to QBE Re’s strategic objectives in a dynamic, multinational environment.

Your New Role
- Develop and grow the business of the Life reinsurance across the MEA Region
- Collaborate with the Head of Life to develop and implement market and client strategies aligned with the MEA Life reinsurance objectives.
- Identify, develop and capitalize on business development initiatives in the MEA in line with QBE Re’s (Life) strategic objectives
- Work closely with underwriting, actuarial, claims, and product teams to design tailored client solutions and negotiate terms and conditions.
- Support actuarial and client management teams by preparing and delivering customised reinsurance products and solutions.
- Develop and maintain effective business relationships with clients, all relevant internal departments and external entities such as business partners, key stakeholders, insurance providers, auditors, local and government authorities and customers
- Ensure compliance with underwriting standards, legal, and regulatory requirements.
- Establish, strengthen and develop relationships with stakeholders including customers, brokers, business partners and colleagues to maximize influence and achieve business objectives
- Promote knowledge sharing and continuous learning within the team.
- Accurately record and monitor reinsurance risks, including delegated underwriting authorities where applicable.
About You
- Proven experience in insurance or reinsurance within a multinational organisation, demonstrating a solid understanding of global operations and industry practices.
- Sound knowledge of market practices, regulatory and solvency environments of the MEA markets
- Experience in the life reinsurance product development in the MEA markets
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strength in relationship management, negotiations, and presentations.
- High level of autonomy, creativity, positive attitude and entrepreneurial mindset
- Fluency in business English (written and spoken); Arabic and French language abilities would be an advantage
