Time Type: Full timeWorker Type: EmployeeResponsible for underwriting activities and P&L responsibility for products aimed at the corporate segment (i.e property, health, liability, worker's compensation, motor, personal accident & travel, employee compensation etc.) and managing UW relationship with intermediaries and business partners in the area of underwriting service delivery, product development and innovation.Your New Role:
- Implement Accident & Health underwriting business strategy, aligning decisions with QBE’s risk appetite and growth objective.
- Involvement in portfolio management, cell review and product development.
- Drive new business production and renewal retention to maintain a profitable book of business.
- Monitor loss ratio and identify underperforming accounts for corrective action.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, agents, and clients to understand needs and deliver responsive solutions.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Policy Administration, Claims and Compliance) to ensure efficiency.
- Compliance with underwriting authority and governance.
- Timely turnaround of quotes and policy documentation.
- Support junior underwriters through coaching, training and review complex risks.
About You:
- 7+ years working experience with substantial experience gained within the insurance industry.
- Degree or equivalent qualification preferable.
- Strong level of numeracy and literacy skills.
- Strong organizational and prioritization, analytical skills.
- Strong negotiating skills.
- Extensive knowledge of relevant market conditions for specific class/portfolio.
- Thorough understanding of class specific underwriting and reinsurance knowledge.
- Intermediate level understanding of relevant software, including Excel and other departmental software packages.
- Strong knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements.
- Strong knowledge of QBE underwriting process and procedures Established customer/broker relationships.
