The Opportunity
This newly created role is designed for someone who loves turning strategy into action: building momentum through campaigns that resonate, events that people remember, and sponsorships that create real connection and measurable impact.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Marketing & Communications, the role focuses on building brand awareness, strengthening customer and partner engagement, and supporting business growth through integrated, insight-led campaigns.

Your new role
The Marketing & Events Manager is responsible for planning, delivering, and optimising marketing, events, and sponsorship activity that supports QBE’s business objectives. Working closely with stakeholders across underwriting, distribution, and other teams, this role ensures activity is well governed, on brand, and driven by insight and performance measures.
In this role, you will:
- Develop and deliver marketing strategies and integrated campaigns aligned to business priorities across New Zealand and the Pacific.
- Lead the planning and execution of a diverse events programme, including broker, customer, people, and industry events.
- Manage sponsorships, partnerships, and community initiatives, ensuring clear objectives, effective activation, and measurable outcomes.
- Act as a brand guardian, ensuring all marketing, event, and sponsorship activity meets brand, compliance, and governance standards.
- Track performance, manage budgets, and report on ROI, using insights to continuously improve effectiveness and impact.
About you
You are an experienced marketing professional who has held senior marketing roles with a strong emphasis on strategic planning to drive growth, engagement, and long-term brand positioning.
You’ll bring:
- Proven success in developing and delivering integrated marketing strategies that achieve measurable outcomes.
- Strong capability in planning and executing events.
- Expertise in leveraging and activating sponsorships and partnerships to maximise brand visibility, community engagement, and business growth opportunities.
- Experience activating sponsorships and partnerships to create value for both brand and business.
- A data-led mindset, with the ability to track performance, manage budgets, and use insights to inform decisions.
