Your New Role

  • Support the development of the annual business plan for the portfolio and ensure delivery of the plan

  • Ensure the team's awareness of the business plan and its context, to make decisions appropriately

  • Adhere to underwriting standards, instructions and good practice to minimise risk and maximise efficiency

  • Establish and strengthen relationships with stakeholders including customers, brokers, business partners and colleagues, to maximise influence and achieve business objectives

  • Demonstrate understanding and awareness of market dynamics and market cycles to drive and enhance business performance

  • Continually develop expertise and technical knowledge through identifying and implementing appropriate development activities

  • Underwrite insurance risks following the business plan and the personal authority to meet business objectives

  • Contribute and influence in the review and analysis of the portfolio, to identify new business development opportunities

  • Work with the Portfolio Manager/ Commercial Manager/ Head of to provide direction and support when developing the team

  • Manage performance fairly and in line with the performance process

About You

  • Strong experience in developing, implementing and delivering business plans within a corporate insurance portfolio.

  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with proven ability to foster team awareness and guide decision-making in line with business objectives.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of underwriting standards and risk management practices, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including customers, brokers, business partners and colleagues.

  • In-depth understanding of market dynamics and cycles, with a track record of driving business performance and identifying new development opportunities.

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and technical expertise, with the capacity to mentor and support team growth.
