The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced LMI Claim Specialist to join QBE’s Lenders’ Mortgage Insurance team. In this role, you’ll assess and manage complex LMI claims while providing technical expertise, insights and coaching to QBE LMI colleagues and work closely with our customers, Lenders.

You’ll play a critical role in delivering outstanding customer outcomes, ensuring strong governance, and supporting continuous improvement across LMI claims processes, while meeting all legal, regulatory and ethical requirements.

Your new role

You’ll be responsible for assessing and managing complex LMI claims end to end, while providing technical expertise, insights and coaching to uplift capability across the team. You’ll play a key role in ensuring high‑quality outcomes, strong compliance, and delivering a consistently positive customer experience.

  • Assess and manage complex LMI claims, including property realisations and claim submissions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Provide technical leadership, coaching and mentoring on complex claims matters
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, industry and QBE policy requirements
  • Identify policy gaps, process improvements and contribute to maintaining LMI claims manuals, policies and lender guides
  • Manage claim escalations, inbox workflows, customer queries and key stakeholder interactions
  • Deliver claims insights, identify emerging trends and lead indicators to support effective risk management

Support audits, operational and contractual reporting, and complaint handling ensuring effective and timely stakeholder engagement.

About you

You’re a technically strong LMI or mortgage claims professional with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for quality outcomes. You combine deep industry knowledge with a customer‑focused mindset and enjoy identifying improvements, sharing expertise and supporting others to navigate complex claims matters.

  • Experienced in retail property lending, banking or LMI‑related roles
  • Proven experience in mortgage or LMI claims assessment and property realisations
  • Strong knowledge of the mortgage lifecycle, including origination, hardship, arrears and property realisations
  • Sound understanding of relevant regulations (e.g. NCCP, Privacy Act, GICOP, Insurance Contracts Act)
  • Experience holding a Delegated Credit or Underwriting Authority (preferred)
  • Advanced problem-solving skills, strong communication and coaching capability with a collaborative team focused approach
