The opportunity

Join the AUSPAC People function and support in delivering the payroll for Australia and New Zealand – 4,000 + employees. As a Senior Payroll Specialist, you will play a crucial role in Payroll ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of payments, output, reporting and lodgement.

Your new role

This position will have a focus on continuous process improvement opportunities within the Payroll function, with a strong emphasis on New Zealand payroll operations. You will be responsible for resolving complex payroll queries, mentoring our offshore Compensation and Benefits team, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies. Other responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in delivering the Australian and New Zealand fortnightly payroll for over 4,000 employees in ADP's GlobalView with high accuracy and standard.

  • Take ownership of end-to-end New Zealand payroll processing, ensuring compliance with NZ legislation including PAYE, KiwiSaver, and leave entitlements.

  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and complex queries.

  • Identify opportunities for service delivery improvement and participate in the continuous improvement of payroll processes

  • Monitor the correctness, eligibility, and timeliness of payments in compliance with Awards, EBA's, Employment Contracts, organisational policies, and relevant legislation.

About you

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Payroll Specialist with a passion for accuracy and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will bring a strong understanding of New Zealand payroll legislation and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.

Other key attributes that will see you succeed in this role:

  • In-depth knowledge of New Zealand payroll legislation and compliance requirements (e.g. PAYE, KiwiSaver, Holidays Act).

  • Deep understanding of legislative requirements in respect of Australian Payroll (eg PAYG, SGC and payroll tax)

  • Proven experience in a similar role in a large complex organisation

  • ADP GlobalView/SAP and Workday experience is preferred but not essential

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to investigate and resolve payroll issues independently.

  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.
