A rare opportunity to step into a senior operational leadership role within one of Australia’s most respected global investment managers.
QIC’s Private Equity (QPE) team is offering a 15‑month maternity leave contract for a highly capable Vice President focused on Operations. This role is ideal for an investment operations leader ready to take ownership of a global, complex portfolio and drive operational excellence in a fast‑growing asset class.
About the Role
As Vice President, you will oversee the end‑to‑end operational, data and reporting platform, supporting a global private equity program with more than 3,000 underlying companies across funds, co‑investments, secondaries and direct equity investments.
You’ll be the engine room of QPE’s operations, uplifting systems, strengthening governance, elevating data insight, and ensuring reporting and performance narratives exceed client expectations.
You will lead a small, high‑performing team and act as a client‑facing representative of QPE. The role is diverse and hands‑on, with exposure across:
Operational leadership and uplift
eFront platform ownership
Forecasting, reporting and analytics
Valuation assurance and audit oversight
Post‑investment portfolio monitoring
Client reporting and presentations
Partnering with QPE’s global team, and internal QIC teams
This is a max‑term contract, enabling a generous handover period with the incumbent and offering a unique development opportunity in a growing asset class.
About You
In this role, you will draw on a genuine enjoyment of solving complex problems and bringing structure and clarity to fast‑moving environments.
A background in funds management, particularly within private equity or venture capital operations or fund accounting, combined with strong data and reporting capabilities, will provide a strong foundation. It will be important to stay composed under pressure, work through detail while keeping sight of the bigger picture and offer insights that others can rely on.

Your Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
Drive Operational Excellence
Lead process optimisation, data uplift and workflow improvements across QPE.
Champion adoption and enhancement of QPE’s core systems, particularly eFront.
Own the Data & Reporting Platform
Maintain a trusted, scalable data environment for investment reporting and analysis.
Coordinate quarterly investment reviews and client reporting, ensuring high‑quality, reconciled, mandate‑compliant outputs.
Strengthen Governance & Assurance
Support valuations and lead assurance activities.
Drive insight‑rich reporting that enhances transparency and decision‑making.
Lead Portfolio Monitoring & Forecasting
Oversee cash forecasting, fee modelling and performance analytics across the portfolio.
Drive comprehensive portfolio‑level monitoring.
Provide Senior Client & Stakeholder Engagement
Represent QPE in client meetings and reporting discussions.
Partner with Investment teams, Client Services, Finance, IT, and external providers.
Lead & Develop a Team
Manage, mentor and develop two high‑performing analysts.
Essential Criteria
To be successful, you will bring:
Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Finance or Accounting
Postgraduate qualifications such as CA, CFA or CAIA (highly regarded)
Experience in Private Equity or Venture Capital and their fund structures, portfolio monitoring and operational processes
Global experience preferred
Strong operational background, particularly in system enhancement and process re‑engineering
Proven experience partnering with IT and data teams
Client‑facing capability with institutional clients
Exceptional attention to detail, high accountability, resilience and a strong ownership mindset
Experience using eFront or similar private markets platforms
