About the Role

4. The Research Analyst provides centralised research support across LMG, helping to inform new mandates, overlay solutions, prospective client opportunities and technical advisory work. You will ensure research outputs are robust, well governed and aligned to client expectations and QIC’s risk and compliance frameworks.

5. This capability is newly established and plays a critical role in freeing up investment teams from research demands, supporting new strategies and improving the scalability, quality and consistency of research activity.

6. You will support the development of insights that influence client conversations, proposals and decision-making, while also helping uplift tools, processes and documentation across the broader group.

7. You are naturally analytical, curious and structured in the way you approach research. You enjoy turning complex information into clear, actionable insights that support client outcomes and investment decisions.

8. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to work closely with technical and nontechnical stakeholders. You’re proactive, organised and able to manage competing priorities in a growing environment.

9. An interest in financial markets, investment strategy, quantitative concepts, research governance or institutional investing will set you up for success.

Key Responsibilities

1. Client & Strategy Research

• Conduct research to support new client mandates, overlay solutions and strategic opportunities.

• Develop research insights that inform client discussions, proposals and technical advisory work.

• Prepare clear, client ready research materials, analysis summaries and presentations.

2. Research Governance & Oversight

• Provide governance oversight of research activities impacting clients.

• Maintain accurate documentation of methodologies, assumptions and limitations.

• Ensure alignment of research outputs with internal risk, compliance and governance frameworks.

3. Collaboration & Integration

• Partner closely with portfolio managers, overlays, exposure management and client teams.

• Act as a central coordination point for research requests across Development & Integration.

• Ensure research aligns with practical implementation requirements and client objectives.

4. Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to streamline research workflows and improve scalability.

• Contribute to the enhancement of tools, templates and the use of analytics in research.

• Support uplift in research quality, efficiency and consistency across the team.

Key Criteria (Essential)

• Tertiary qualification in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or a related discipline.

• Strong research, analytical and problem-solving capability.

• Ability to translate complex analysis into clear, client ready insights.

• High standard of written and verbal communication.

• Strong attention to detail and intellectual rigour.

• Experience in financial markets, funds management or institutional investment research.
