This lead role ultimately oversees the delivery of quality and impactful learning content. As an Instructional Designer Lead, your role is to oversee and guide the instructional design process within an organization. You will be responsible for developing and implementing effective learning strategies and designing high-quality instructional materials to support the organization's training and development initiatives.
LEADERSHIP
- Being a player-coach to a stream of Instructional Designers, motivating and encouraging high-quality work, and providing feedback and guidance on the quality of work.
- Provide instructional design expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert in instructional design methodologies, trends, and best practices. Advise and consult with internal teams on instructional strategies, content organization, and delivery methods to optimize learning outcomes.
- Managing the effectiveness of the team's output. Conduct needs assessments: Analyze training needs and performance gaps to identify learning objectives and design appropriate learning solutions. Collect and analyze data through surveys, interviews, and focus groups to inform instructional design decisions.
- Responsible for onboarding new starters in the team, ensuring documentation is up to date with ongoing changes. Evaluate and measure training effectiveness: Develop evaluation frameworks and conduct assessments to measure the effectiveness of instructional materials and training programs. Use data and feedback to identify areas for improvement and make necessary revisions to enhance learner engagement and performance.

- Playing a quality assurance role where you will review courses and lessons developed by your team, providing constructive feedback and always striving for technical excellence.
- Collaborate with stakeholders (Sales / Success Team) to gather content, review learning materials, and ensure alignment with learning objectives. Facilitate discussions and manage feedback to improve the effectiveness of instructional materials.
CORE INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN
- Using our authoring tool, you will be given briefs from our Instructional Designers and Account Managers to create training courses and micro-lessons, either for clients or for our growing course library.
- You will be researching and writing the course content, but also use image editing and visual design tools to enhance the look and feel of the micro-lessons.
- You will review materials and documents to structure and produce courses, as well as source other relevant information and assets.

Responsibilities & Daily Tasks:
- Monitor Hubspot queues to ensure all projects and assignments for the Manila ID Team are on track
- Liaise with the Manila Operations Lead to triage and delegate new projects across the Manila ID Team
- Liaise with the Senior IDs to ensure the efficient operation of the Manila Instructional Design Team
- Liaise with Customer Success Managers to provide project updates and ask for clarifications on assignment requests, if necessary
- Lead the daily Manila ID Team check-ins with our Manila Operations Lead in order to get updates on works in progress
- Provide ad hoc assistance to IDs in order to meet deadlines, or request extensions if reasonable
- Provide ad hoc assistance to IDs with regard to workplace concerns e.g. low motivation, interpersonal conflict, etc.
- Liaise with the Manila HR Team to ensure that all back-office concerns involving the Manila ID Team are in order to author courses/lessons on an as-needed basis
- Perform QA work for stream members and fellow ID leaders via our iAuditor templates; provide feedback, and suggest/apply improvements to courses/lessons if needed
- Hold regular 1:1s with your stream members to keep them updated about their performance, and help them overcome challenges by presenting action items and collaborating with them to formulate solutions
- Hold regular meetings with the Senior IDs for welfare checks, to discuss process improvements, to address concerns within the team, and to provide assistance as needed
- Represent the Manila ID Team in cross-departmental events and meetings
