The Change Manager ensures the people side of a client’s software development lifecycle (SDLC) uplift is delivered with rigour, driving adoption, readiness, and measurable value realisation. This role enables delivery teams to consistently apply evolving standards, playbooks, and patterns by building the adoption system, running the Change & Adoption Network, and co-delivering training and enablement.

WHAT GOOD LOOKS LIKE

  • Delivery teams use the agreed SDLC patterns consistently and know where to find them.
  • The Change & Adoption Network is active and increasingly self-sustaining with clear cadence.
  • Training and onboarding land effectively for teams and new joiners.
  • Adoption measures and feedback show lift (reduced friction, faster delivery, more consistent outcomes).

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Own day-to-day change and adoption delivery for SDLC uplift, ensuring adoption activities are planned, executed, and tracked across delivery teams.
  • Partner with client leads and project domain leads to package and roll out evolving best practices across project teams, coordinating waves/releases and adoption milestones.
  • Operate and continuously improve the adoption “system”: cadence, governance touchpoints, dependency tracking, and a prioritised adoption backlog (comms, enablement, champions actions, leadership alignment).
  • Run the Change & Adoption Network (champions model), including cadence and sessions.
  • Design and coordinate training and enablement (role-based pathways and supporting assets) so teams can adopt the practices consistently, including onboarding for new teams/new joiners.
  • Gather feedback and usage signals from delivery teams and the network, remove adoption blockers, and work with client leads and project domain leads to iterate practices to be fit-for-purpose.
  • Run targeted impact checks when practices/patterns are introduced or updated (who is affected, what changes, what support is required) to keep rollout pragmatic and focused.
  • Track and report progress through program governance (adoption measures, risks/issues, dependencies) and highlight where additional intervention is needed to drive uptake and sustainment.

EXPERIENCE

  • Extensive experience leading end-to-end change management for complex transformations (business and technology), with strong ownership from discovery through adoption and sustainment.
  • Deep, hands-on capability across core change disciplines: change planning, impact and readiness, stakeholder and sponsor engagement, communications, learning/enablement, and adoption measurement.
  • Proven ability to translate strategy into practical, fit-for-context change plans and deliver them in fast-moving delivery environments.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with technical teams and leaders to embed new ways of working into day-to-day delivery
  • Excellent facilitation and influencing skills across senior leaders, SMEs, and delivery teams.
  • Strong governance and reporting discipline, including dependency management, risk/issue management, and clear progress reporting against adoption/readiness measures.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certifications: Prosci / ACMP / APMG (or equivalent).
  • Experience working with technology delivery teams.
  • Exposure to AI-enabled ways of working and adoption patterns.
