Style Sourcebook is on the hunt for an experienced and driven salesperson who is well connected in the Australian media/marketing industry, is an expert in their craft and can bring their flair and sense of fun to our Australian sales team. The role will be based in either Sydney or Melbourne and is very flexible. There is only 1 mandatory day/week in an office with your peers and the remaining time will be spent working from home. You will also be required to see clients face-to-face as and when needed.

With a House & Garden marketplace of over 100,000 products and a free “drag and drop” mood board tool, we enable our community to interactively mix and match their fittings & fixtures and furniture & homewares from different brands and retailers to visually plan their product purchases. Our highly engaged Instagram community @stylesourcebook of over 80,000 design enthusiasts, actively share their mood boards with their followers to get feedback on their ideas.
For our retailer customers, Style Sourcebook provides a way to build brand & product awareness, drive product engagement and ultimately increase their sales.
About the role:
The Sales Manager position is a newly created role and a critical hire for our team as we strive to drive strategic long-term partnerships with Tier 1 Brands and Partners across Australia. Success in this role is driving exponential revenue growth to our platform. This is achieved by building strategic relationships with Marketing Managers, Directors and CMOs at National House & Garden retailers (Direct Sales) and solidifying repeat spending. You will be working closely with the Commercial Director with a connection to our Executive Team in devising and implementing strategies to achieve this.
The Sales Manager role will operate with a high degree of autonomy and be expected to effectively manage/ be accountable for the sales pipeline and significantly contribute to the overarching commercial strategy for the business. The role would be expected to participate in executive-level revenue reporting as well as regular planning and strategy exercises.
Main Job and Activities:
- Identify, target and win accounts with prominent brand/retail partners
- Achieve quarterly sales targets and key results consistently
- Shape the sales strategy;
- Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of our selling process, focusing on continuous improvement and a best-practice approach
- Work closely with the Executive Team to develop customer packages and pricing solutions that maximise margins, increase revenue growth and support new business development
- Research and analysis of current and future markets, potential clients and additional or adjacent revenue opportunities
- Assessing and developing channel partnerships
- Create, manage and maintain a thriving and consistent opportunity pipeline as well as detailed and accurate forecasting and pipeline management to the Commercial Director
- Prepare tailored sales presentations and proposals to an elite level with ‘wow’ factor
- Keynote speaker at client and/or industry events
- Serve as an expert in our brand, our product(s) and technology
- Additional revenue-based projects as they arise
About you:

This is a direct sales position so you will be confident in your abilities to be creative and persistent in securing new business meetings, present the need and value proposition confidently, handle objections, pick up the phone when needed and ultimately close deals.
The ideal candidate will;
- Have 5+ years of media sales experience in a direct sales role
- Have a hunter mentality with a proven success record of revenue attainment
- Have experience managing a highly accurate pipeline, qualifying leads and closing large contracts
- Have experience in maintaining accurate, detailed customer data via a CRM
- Be a creative problem solver
- Be a natural communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- Have very strong written, verbal and presentation skills
- Have a proven ability to develop senior-level relationships quickly and effectively
- Be a self-starter and highly motivated in autonomous settings
- Have a proactive mindset with the ability to work seamlessly in cross-functional team settings
- Be persistent, disciplined and highly organised with a strong sense of urgency
- Have an interest in interior design/beautiful interiors & exteriors (highly regarded)
- Have experience in SaaS sales (highly regarded)
- Tertiary education in Marketing, Communications or Business discipline (highly regarded)
