We are on a mission to unlock Solar's full potential by revolutionising how solar cells are made, to unlock new heights of efficiency, cost, and sustainability.

Founded in 2015 by two UNSW roommates (Vince Allen - a PhD student in solar and David Hu – a former investment banker), we have come a long way from the breakthrough made in their garage to producing the world’s most efficient commercial-sized solar panel.

As our new Automation Engineer, you will work within the team on the implementation of software used in the automation of production tools used in our solar cell manufacturing process. You will have the opportunity to run your own projects and receive mentorship to grow and learn alongside your team.

You will focus on:

• Collaborating with other engineers and technical professionals to design and build complex systems
• Applying machine learning techniques to solve automation and data analysis problems
• Designing and developing software to control and coordinate the various mechanical, electrical, and computer components of Mechatronic systems
• Conducting tests and simulations to ensure that automated systems function correctly (with hardware in and out of the loop)
• Improving general development practices (unit testing, integration testing, CI/CD etc..)
• Researching and providing recommendations for appropriate frameworks and tools to use in automation practices and process data storage
• Analyzing and troubleshooting software issues with automated equipment
  
  
  

We would love you to have:

• Bachelor of Engineering in Mechatronics, or Computer Science / Engineering
• Previous experience in a Mechatronics, Automation or Software Engineer role
• Strong foundational programming knowledge within C++
• Ability to work with in a team and collaborate with colleagues from various disciplines.
• Willing to be hands on with automated machines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
