As our Principal Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of our engineering team, driving the design and development of high-performance, cost-effective equipment for our solar cell production line. • As our Principal Engineer for Equipment Development, you'll be at the forefront of our engineering team, driving the design and development of high-performance, cost-effective equipment for our solar cell production line. You'll have the opportunity to:
• Lead the design and development of novel equipment: Be the technical leader for new equipment, from concept through built and commissioning. Apply your expertise in mechanical engineering principles, materials selection, and manufacturing processes to create innovative solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with engineers, scientists, and production specialists to ensure equipment meets technical requirements and integrates seamlessly into our production line.
• Manage and mentor junior engineers: Foster a collaborative and learning environment, guiding, and supporting junior engineers in their development.
• Drive continuous improvement: Identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency gains in existing equipment, ensuring our production remains cost-competitive.
• Champion Australian manufacturing: Work with local suppliers and manufacturers to source and develop equipment within Australia, contributing to the growth of the local solar industry.
  
  
  

We would love you to have:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) and a minimum of 10 years of experience in equipment design and development
• Proven track record in leading and delivering complex engineering projects, from concept to commissioning
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials selection, and manufacturing processes
• Experience with 3D modeling software (SolidWorks etc.) and computer-aided design (CAD) is essential
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively work with diverse teams
• Passion for innovation, problem-solving, and making a positive impact
• Enthusiasm for the solar energy industry and a desire to contribute to Australia's clean energy future
