SunDrive has quickly grown from a UNSW PhD project in a garage to producing the world’s most efficient commercial-sized solar cells.As our new Head of Engineering you will lead Solar Manufacturing team whilst being responsible for developing and implementing innovative engineering strategies that will enable us to meet our manufacturing objectives. You will be highly experience in your field and help us to improve our manufacturing processes, and drive operational efficiency across the business. You will have a strong background in mechanical, software, and mechatronics engineering, and will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of our new manufacturing line.You will focus on:
- Developing and implementing engineering strategies that align with our manufacturing goals and objectives
- Overseeing the development and implementation of our manufacturing line, including mechanical, software, and mechatronics engineering components
- Managing and mentoring a team of engineers responsible for the development and maintenance of our manufacturing line
- Leading cross-functional collaboration efforts between engineering and other departments, such as operations and quality assurance
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and standards
- Monitoring and managing project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
- Identifying and implementing process improvements to drive operational efficiency and reduce manufacturing costs
- Developing and maintaining relationships with key vendors and suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery of engineering components
- Strong experience within engineering, with experience in a leadership role
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing engineering strategies that drive operational efficiency and reduce manufacturing costs
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, software, and mechatronics engineering principles
- Proven track record of leading successful cross-functional collaboration efforts
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and implement process improvements
