Syncio is on a mission to make collaboration for merchants and makers seamless by democratising inventory and the basic building blocks of commerce across the internet.

The other thing different about this opportunity, is that despite impacting thousands of merchants globally already, we’re still a really small team. You’ll be in the first 15 employees at Syncio. Syncio is looking for a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join us on this unimaginable journey as we soar to new heights together!

Syncio enables collaboration by making the basic building blocks of commerce shareable across webstores. Think inventory, orders, product attributes, all the key information required for retail to operate. Syncio enables merchants to create its own micro-marketplaces, become a super-distributor, expand globally, etc.
To give you a sense of Syncio’s impact, in 2023, over 60M orders worth US$4.5Bn in GMV was synced across the Syncio network.
And that was 2023! We’re back, delivering even bigger impact in 2024 so far. We feel like we’re just getting started.
Internally, we’re fully independent and bootstrapped, so we’re all-in on our team and customers, and not distracted by a board and investors. Our engineering team is not just engineering, it’s product engineering. We want to work with and develop the very best engineers not just technically (you’ll jump straight into the biggest impact projects), but would also be more than comfortable speaking directly to our customers, or helping shape product.

What you will do
Become an integral part of the product engineering team
Work with the founder, CTO, engineering lead, product manager, designer, and CX specialists (basically everyone) to define Syncio’s feature and product set.
Influence product decisions by bringing technical insights into conversations about product direction and technical roadmap.
You will be working on projects start to finish.
Drive technical excellence
Develop and deploy full-stack solutions that enhance the platform's functionality, performance, and security.
The work split is 70% backend and 30% frontend.
Drive high code quality through robust reviews, automated testing, and proactive resolution of performance bottlenecks.
Take DevOps to the next level
Optimise and monitor infrastructure and manage autoscale and lambda AWS services, but not limited to just these.
Enable cross-team collaboration to flourish across multiple time zones
High-quality communicator and team player in a remote-first environment.
A leader who will be able to push product engineering standards higher.
A self-managing team member who thrives in autonomy and a high-paced, dynamic environment.
Who we are looking for
Love for product and customers - You’re excited about solving real customer problems through well-designed solutions, not just the code.
Full stack expertise - You have experience in Laravel, API development (GraphQL/REST), MySQL, and frontend frameworks like Vue.js or React, including AWS.
GSD expert - You’re someone who ‘Gets Stuff Done.’ At Syncio, we say ‘Show, Don’t Tell,’ consistently delivering results, hitting goals, and end-to-end project development. You set the bar for excellence and reliability, all without needing micromanagement.
Thrive in uncertainty – You adapt and excel in fast-changing, ambiguous situations. While this role focuses on deep code and solution architecting, your versatility could lead to other areas.
Communication and collaboration pro - You’ll have thrived in keeping everyone aligned on the what, how, and why of the development's direction while also being a strong team player and leading the team to success.
