ABOUT THE TEAM:
As the Lead Technical Writer, you will be responsible for leading a team of two Technical Writers (with potential for growth) while also delivering hands-on work for our B2B SaaS product’s microcopy and documentation. Your team will be incubated in our broader Product Experience team, along with the Product design team, and you will collaborate closely with Product & Engineering teams to ensure clarity, consistency, and usability across all written materials. This role requires a strategic mindset, a passion for quality writing, and the ability to lead and mentor others.
We would prefer to meet professionals who are already based in Berlin or willing to move to Berlin.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of two Technical Writers, ensuring high-quality output and alignment with company goals.
- Develop, refine, and maintain product documentation, API references, and in-app microcopy for a seamless user experience.
- Establish and enforce tone-of-voice and writing guidelines to maintain consistency across all written materials.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Managers, Engineers, and Designers to deliver accurate and user-friendly documentation.
- Work hands-on with GitHub repositories and JSON files to manage and contribute to technical content.
- Continuously improve documentation and writing processes by leveraging best practices and modern tools.
- Advocate for clear, concise, and accessible writing across the organization.
WHAT WE NEED YOU TO BRING TO THE TABLE: :
- 5+ years of experience in technical writing, UX writing, microcopy, and documentation for B2B SaaS products.
- Previous experience leading or mentoring other writers.Experience mentoring or leading a team of Technical Writers.
- A strong portfolio showcasing hands-on experience in writing technical content, UX copy, and structured documentation.
- Technical understanding of core engineering concepts, including APIs and related technologies.
- Experience working with GitHub repositories and familiarity with JSON file structures.
- Fluent in English. German and any additional languages are a big plus.
- Passionate about solving complex problems with clear and effective communication.
- A proactive and empathetic leader who fosters a collaborative and growth-oriented team culture.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to the craft of technical writing
