About Truescope

Truescope is a media intelligence and analytics business with a global footprint, operating across Australia, the USA, New Zealand and Asia. We enable clients to monitor, measure and act on media signals across multiple channels. As our growth accelerates into new geographies and product offerings, we are seeking a hands on finance leader who combines strategic insight with operational rigour to build a finance function that is accurate, automated and ready for investors.

Role Purpose

The Fractional Head of Finance will lead our finance function and partner with the CEO, the founders and Board on the commercial and strategic decisions that drive the business. You will run finance day to day, close the month, build and automate the systems behind billing and reporting, strengthen controls, and be the CEO's right hand on the numbers, able to challenge the trend and represent the business to the Board and investors. It is a pragmatist's role: someone who will roll their sleeves up to

fix processes and systems while staying strategic and entrepreneurial in supporting Truescope's growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the CEO's right hand on the numbers and a sounding board on the commercial decisions that matter, including pricing, vendor management, new customer commercials and sales incentives.
  • Own finance across the group day to day, including invoicing, accounts payable and receivable, cash management, banking and reconciliations, and deliver an accurate and timely monthly close consolidated across entities.
  • Build and orchestrate the AI finance systems AI to automate them rather than simply operate them, moving the business off manual processes and onto a connected flow that runs from the CRM and document signing through to the accounting system, so that all contracts and ARR are captured in billing without leakage.
  • Strengthen internal controls and the integrity of reporting, reconciling ARR, product usage and closed CRM deals against invoiced revenue, making sure billing runs through the system end to end and that commissions can be tied to accurate billing data where that helps.
  • Manage external accountants and advisers in the USA and New Zealand, oversee Australian and international accounting including intercompany flows and foreign exchange, and ensure statutory compliance, taxation, lodgements and company secretarial obligations are met across all entities.
  • Maintain shareholder oversight of the Singapore joint venture from Australia, making sure governance, controls and reporting are sound and that intercompany, dividend and loan positions are properly managed, while the Singapore team remains responsible for running its own finance function and reporting into the group.
  • Maintain a forecast and financial model built around the key drivers and held to a standard investors will expect, support budgeting and scenario analysis, and lead the financial work behind capital raising and due diligence.
  • Prepare Board and investor reporting, including finance commentary and SaaS metrics. This is a hands-on role, not purely a strategic one.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Qualified accountant (CA, CPA or equivalent) with experience running operational finance in a startup or scaleup, ideally enterprise SaaS.
  • Growth mindset and a hands on doer who builds and automates systems and is happy in the detail, not just the strategy.
  • Strong technical accounting across multiple entities and international operations (Australia, USA, New Zealand; Asia an advantage).
  • Sound knowledge of financial reporting, compliance, internal controls and company secretarial obligations.
  • Commercially minded, able to partner with a CEO on pricing, deals and investment decisions and to support a capital raise.
  • Experience with connected finance and CRM systems such as Xero, QuickBooks and HubSpot, and a genuine interest in using AI to do finance better.

What Truescope Offers

  • A senior finance leadership role with genuine accountability, influence and impact at a growth oriented SaaS business.
  • The opportunity to build the finance function, work in a high performance culture and collaborate directly with senior leadership.
  • Exposure to corporate strategy, M&A and a capital raise.
  • Flexible work arrangements, a dynamic team, and the ability to operate both strategically and operationally.
  • Sydney based role with international scope (Australia, USA, New Zealand and Singapore).
