Take a pivotal role within Versent Modern Run in this Azure Cloud Engineer role,
supporting and evolving customer environments built on Microsoft Azure.

As an Azure Cloud Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the health, stability, security, and performance of cloud platforms, ensuring our customers receive reliable, high-quality managed services outcomes.


You’ll work closely with customers, delivery teams, and partners to troubleshoot issues, optimise environments, and automate operations, playing a key role in driving operational excellence and continuous improvement across Azure estates.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on cloud engineering, problem-solving in live environments, and building trusted relationships with customers.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting and operating production Azure environments within a managed services context

  • Monitoring platform health, availability, security, and performance

  • Responding to and resolving incidents, problems, and service requests

  • Implementing automation and Infrastructure-as-Code to improve reliability and efficiency

  • Working directly with customers to troubleshoot issues and recommend improvements

  • Applying Azure best practices across security, governance, backup, and cost optimisation

  • Collaborating with internal teams to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomesaligned to SLAs

Technical skills required;

Azure Platform Operations

  • Deliver Level 2/3 technical support for Azure IaaS and PaaS, including virtual machines, networking, storage, identity, and monitoring.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents and problems in Azure environments—perform root cause analysis and drive resolution.

  • Execute proactive maintenance (patching, scaling, configuration drift control, backups, monitoring).

  • Implement and improve automation using PowerShell, Azure CLI, and IaC tooling.

  • Manage change processes, including planned maintenance, upgrades, and security remediations under ITIL/DevOps frameworks.

Customer Engagement and Collaboration

  • Serve as a primary technical contact for assigned customer environments.

  • Communicate technical issues and recommendations clearly to non-technical audiences.

  • Work closely with delivery teams, engineers, and architects to maintain reliable and secure services.

Service Improvement & Team Contribution

  • Participate in continuous service improvement initiatives; contribute to technical documentation, knowledge bases, and automation libraries.

  • Actively participate in agile ceremonies and support innovation in cloud operations.

Risk and Governance

  • Ensure compliance with customer security, cost governance, and operational standards.

  • Identify, document, and report risks or incidents per MSP protocols.
