We’re growing our Houston team and are looking for a Lead Software Engineer to shape the design and delivery of secure, scalable, AI‑enabled platforms. This role sits at the intersection of strong backend and cloud foundations and production‑ready AI, with a focus on building agentic systems that drive real, measurable business outcomes.

You’ll lead a small engineering team, set technical direction, and partner closely with Product, Design, and business stakeholders to turn complex challenges into reliable, intelligent solutions

What You’ll Do

Platform & Infrastructure

• Design and build secure, scalable AWS infrastructure aligned to enterprise and Well‑Architected Framework standards.
• Own backend architecture, system design, and integrations, supported by clear documentation and architecture diagrams.
• Establish reliable data flows and data lineage to ensure traceability, governance, and auditability across platforms.
• Define and enforce security models, access controls, and security‑by‑design best practices across services.
  
  
  

AI & Agentic Systems

• Architect and deliver AI‑enabled solutions, including prompt integration, inference pipelines, and agent‑based frameworks.
• Build agentic systems that automate workflows and deliver tangible operational value.
• Guide teams on effective, responsible use of AI, ensuring strong backend and data foundations before scaling.
• Balance experimentation with production‑grade reliability, security, and performance.
  
  
  

Leadership & Delivery

• Lead and mentor a small team of engineers, setting technical standards and providing hands‑on guidance.
• Partner with Product to design solutions for real business use cases using proven architectural patterns.
• Act as a bridge between engineering teams and business stakeholders, driving clarity, alignment, and shared outcomes.
• Own delivery rhythm, including backlog management, Agile ceremonies, and sprint planning.
• Serve as a Platform and AI Subject Matter Expert (SME), promoting reuse, consistency, and long‑term scalability.
  
  
  

What We’re Looking For

• AWS Expertise: Lambda, SQS, EventBridge, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Secrets Manager, AWS CDK.
• Backend Development: Strong experience with TypeScript (Node.js) and Python.
• Workflow Orchestration: Step Functions, Orkes/Conductor, or similar orchestration platforms.
• Integrations & Security: OAuth2, authentication flows, API security, and security‑by‑design principles.
• Databases: Experience with both SQL and NoSQL technologies.
• CI/CD: GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline.
