We’re looking for a hands-on Lead Cloud Engineer to help design, build, and evolve cloud infrastructure on AWS using Terraform as the primary infrastructure-as-code tool.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in structured environments, enjoys working with existing systems, and brings a methodical approach to codifying and managing real-world infrastructure. You’ll play a key role in translating existing AWS environments into clean, maintainable Terraform, and supporting the evolution of scalable cloud foundations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, write, and maintain modular, reusable Terraform code for AWS infrastructure
  • Import and manage existing AWS resources into Terraform state safely and accurately
  • Work with established Terraform workflows (plan/apply cycles, state management, environment separation)
  • Implement and maintain remote state management (e.g. S3 + DynamoDB locking)
  • Contribute to and operate CI/CD pipelines for Terraform (e.g. GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Atlantis)
  • Analyse existing AWS environments and codify infrastructure with precision
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and stakeholders to align on standards and delivery
  • Produce clear documentation and communicate technical decisions effectively
  • Adopt and actively use AI-assisted development tools in daily workflows

What You Bring

  • Strong, hands-on experience in real AWS environments
  • Ability to structure reusable modules effectively, manage variables, outputs, and environments cleanly and set up and manage remote state (S3 + DynamoDB)
  • Experience terraform import, moved blocks, and state refactoring
  • Comfortable working with Terraform in CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong Understanding of how an AWS environment is structured and connected
  • Comfortable using GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor, Amazon Q Developer (or similar)
  • Treat AI tooling as a core part of your workflow, not an optional extra

What You Bring

  • Strong, hands-on experience working with Terraform in real AWS environments
  • Proven ability to build reusable modules and manage variables, outputs, and environments effectively
  • Experience setting up and managing remote state (S3 + DynamoDB)
  • Practical experience with terraform import, moved blocks, and state refactoring
  • Comfortable integrating Terraform into CI/CD pipelines
  • Solid understanding of how AWS environments are structured and interconnected
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor, Amazon Q Developer or similar)
  • Naturally incorporate AI tooling into your workflow to code, troubleshoot, and document efficiently
