About the Role

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all manufacturing operations at Pressed Juicery's Dinuba facility; they are the primary operational leader between the floor team and the Senior Plant Manager. This role leads and develops a team of Production Supervisors and Leads, ensuring that all production activities meet safety, quality, regulatory, and efficiency standards. The Production Manager is accountable for plant-wide output, cost management, workforce performance, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Production Operations

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate daily and weekly production activities to meet volume, quality, and cost targets.
  • Review and approve production schedules; adjust labor and equipment resources to meet changing demands.
  • Monitor production KPIs (output, yield, downtime, waste) and take corrective action as needed.
  • Ensure smooth shift transitions through effective cross-shift communication and handoff protocols.
  • Oversee accurate and timely completion of all production documentation and reporting.
  • Maintain regular, reliable attendance and actively participate in required meetings, trainings, and company events in alignment with business needs.

Food Safety & Quality

  • Enforce all GMP, HACCP, food safety, and sanitation standards as required by Pressed Juicery and regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure all products are produced in compliance with specifications, allergen controls, and hold/release procedures.
  • Partner with the Quality Assurance and Food Safety team to address non-conformances and drive root cause resolution.
  • Support audit readiness and participate in internal and external audits (FDA, BRC, customer, etc.).

People Leadership

  • Directly supervise Production Supervisors and Production Leads; provide coaching, feedback, and performance management.
  • Lead hiring, onboarding, and ongoing training of production staff in collaboration with Senior Plant Manager and HR.
  • Address employee performance issues promptly; escalate to the Senior Plant Manager as appropriate.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and high-accountability work culture across all shifts.
  • Champion employee engagement and retention within the production team.

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce all EHS policies and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Participate in safety audits, walkthroughs, and safety committee initiatives.
  • Ensure all equipment is operated safely and that PPE requirements are followed at all times.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and lead process improvement initiatives to reduce waste, increase efficiency, and lower production costs.
  • Utilize data and performance metrics to drive decisions and sustain improvements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Planning, Maintenance, Quality, and Supply Chain to resolve bottlenecks.
  • Leverage digital tools and platforms (e.g., Redzone) to enhance real-time visibility and workforce performance.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Food & Beverage manufacturing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Food Science, Engineering, or related field - or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams across multiple shifts.
  • Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, food safety regulations, and OSHA requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems (NetSuite is a plus).
  • Must maintain confidentiality of sensitive company information.
  • Must be able to work for extended periods of time, with exposure to cold temperatures, wet conditions, and industrial equipment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
