Job Overview
The R&D Product Development Technician for the Grinding, Coil winding and Miss Ops under minimal supervision, shall assist R&D/NPI Engineers oversee the conception and design of manufactured goods in grinding filed. This position will report to and work closely with R&D and NPI engineers on the Product Development team to execute solutions for complex and outside current manufacturing capabilities grinding projects.
- Identify areas for process, equipment, material flow and cost improvements for new products
- Develop new product method, process and tooling for grinding, winding and Misc operation.
- Train and work with production supervisors, operators and process owners to new processing method
- Data collection, analysis and reporting to support identification of new opportunities or implemented changes
- Execute new product validations activities
- Design assistance for upgraded and new equipment supporting R&D/Manufacturing engineering team activities
- Assist in procurement, testing, and validation of products supporting R&D/NPI team activities
- Support all aspects of R&D/NPI projects from conception to realization
- Assist R&D/NPI engineers complete assigned tasks
Job Requirements
- High mechanical aptitude with demonstrated ability to understand complex machinery, equipment operation, and manufacturing processes, coupled with excellent reporting writing and documentation skills including technical specifications, process procedures, and quality control documentation
- Ability to communicate highly technical information effectively both written and verbally to both internal stakeholders including engineering teams, production staff, and management, as well as external customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies with clear, concise, and accurate technical presentations
- Ability to objectively evaluate existing manufacturing methods through systematic analysis, data collection, performance metrics assessment, and identification of inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for process optimization and cost reduction
- Embraces and drives change for improvement by actively seeking opportunities to enhance processes, implementing lean manufacturing principles, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization
- Objectivity in analysis and assessing probability of success by considering all options and ideas put forth by others, utilizing data-driven decision making, risk assessment methodologies, and comprehensive evaluation of alternative solutions before implementation

- Ability to obtain and apply fundamental knowledge of current and emerging manufacturing processes including automation technologies, quality control systems, and advanced manufacturing techniques through continuous learning and professional development
- Leadership traits and principles as evidenced by ability to engage others, motivate team members, delegate responsibilities effectively, and guide cross-functional teams toward successful completion of complex assigned projects and initiatives
- Capability in systematic problem solving and process troubleshooting using root cause analysis, statistical methods, and structured problem-solving methodologies to identify, analyze, and resolve manufacturing and quality issues
- Ability to apply sound engineering judgment to all efforts by considering technical feasibility, cost implications, safety requirements, and regulatory compliance in decision-making processes
- Progress in becoming a skilled technical writer and trainer through formal education, professional development courses, and hands-on experience in creating training materials and conducting technical presentations
- Microsoft Office Skills including advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and other relevant software applications for data analysis, reporting, and project management
What your background should look like
Typically requires 3-4 years or more of related work experience. Requires high school diploma. Completion of an AA degree or equivalent is preferred.

COMPENSATION
- Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $53,900– $80,800 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
- Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
- Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
