Based in Chicago Heights, IL Nufarm is looking to engage a motivated Packaging Production Manager. The Packaging Production Manager shares responsibility and accountability for plant personnel, assets and achievement of the plant related site, business, and corporate goals. Provides leadership to the plant operations team which includes both professional individual contributors and administrative, technical and / or operational supports employees. Acts as the primary back-up to the Operations Manager. Has accountability for the performance and results of the team. As a people leader, fosters a work environment with a high level of integrity and strong customer and safety focus that embraces inclusion and diversity, innovation and sustainability, continuous improvement, and empowerment.
What will you be doing?
- Partners with the Operations Manager to drive a strong personal safety, process safety, and environmental improvement plan to achieve Environmental, Health and Safety goals and ensure compliance with regulatory and permit requirements.
- Supports Operations Manager to provide motivation, explanation, context, and communication purpose of messages to the empowered organization.
- Develops operation employees and ensures career success via goal-setting, performance management, promotion processes, and employee development plan.
- Balances inspirational leadership and accountability as the direct People Leader for supervisors and team members to ensure adherence with Nufarm’s work processes and standard requirements.
- Knows the business model and strategy for facility.
- Explains to operations how the plant fits into the business and corporation.
- Supports Operations Manager in leading the team to accomplish business and site reliability and budget goals.
- Demonstrates a continuous improvement mindset and leads strategy elements to deliver results.
- Serves as a teacher and role model for the organization.
What do you bring?
Nufarm is looking for a Packaging Production Manager with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in engineering is required; Chemical or Mechanical is preferred and a minimum of 7 years of engineering, manufacturing or related experiences required. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a chemical manufacturing plant is and demonstrated leadership abilities and proven influential leadership skills in previous areas of responsibility.
What do we offer?
Our compensation structure is designed to reflect the cost of labor across various U.S. geographic markets. The base salary for this position ranges from $108,000 per year to $135,000 per year. Compensation is determined by several factors, including market location, and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
