About Zeller
At Zeller, we’re champions for businesses of all sizes, and proud to be a fast-growing Australian scale-up taking on the ambitious goal of reimagining business banking and payments.
We believe in a level playing field, where all businesses benefit from access to smarter payments and financial services solutions that accelerate their cash flow, help them get paid faster, and give them a better understanding of their finances. So we’re hard at work building the tools to make it happen.
Zeller is growing fast, backed by leading VCs, and brings together a global team of passionate payment and tech industry professionals. With an exciting roadmap of innovative new products under development, we are building a high performing team to take on the outdated banking solutions. If you are passionate about innovation, thrive in fast-paced environments, embrace a challenge, hate bureaucracy, and can’t think of anything more exciting than disrupting the status-quo, then read on to learn more.
About the position
We are looking for an experienced HR Lead to join our team on a fixed-term 12 month parental leave contract.
As a HR Lead at Zeller, you’ll provide leadership and support to Zeller’s leaders, people managers, and employees to build and deliver HR programs and initiatives to completion. You’ll be a champion for employee engagement and experience, ensuring that all Zeller team members feel supported in their roles, and have a clear understanding of their position, remuneration, progression, and development within the company.
No two days will be the same, and you’ll be on the frontline collaborating with cross-functional partners to deliver your HR strategy from recruitment and onboarding, to performance management and coaching, and more. Zeller’s HR Lead will drive engagement and culture-building initiatives with a strong sense of ownership and a "get things done" attitude. You’re effective at managing multiple projects at once, highly detail-oriented and organised, like to be busy and productive, learn quickly, and have a track record of being adaptable in a fluid, high-growth environment.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Develop HR strategies and initiatives that align with Zeller’s overall business strategy
  • Partner with business leaders and people managers on all day-to-day employee matters, consultation, coaching, performance, and development
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment including role evaluation, talent pool growth and management, advertising, screening, and interview processes in conjunction with hiring managers
  • Management of the annual performance review process, including leader coaching to ensure consistent delivery and effective communication
  • Develop and maintain HR documentation including letters of offer, contracts, induction plans, policies and processes
  • Creation and execution of onboarding and offboarding for all employees
  • Create and drive leadership and employee development programs
  • Support finance in the delivery of monthly payroll, ensuring that all information is current and accurate
  • Manage all immigration/visa matters for candidates and employees
  • Maintenance and upkeep of the HR technology stack (including Linkedin Recruiter, Employment Hero, Glassdoor and more)
  • Facilitate planning of team events and culture-building activities, including monthly all-hands, annual celebrations, and ‘surprise and delight’ initiatives
  • Support and drive internal communication to ensure that all Zeller employees globally are engaged, active participants of our community
  • In general, you’re a people champion - you have a great ‘vibe’ and the ability to anticipate the needs of team members in advance

Qualifications and experience

  • Hands-on experience in a similar role and level, where you’ve managed multiple stakeholders and projects, ideally in a high-growth environment, or relevant experience that positions you ready to step up into the role
  • Knowledge of employee relations, including performance management, talent acquisition and management, safety practices and laws
  • Experience in drafting new employee and HR policies from scratch
  • A strong bias towards execution, and an openness to feedback, collaboration and teamwork
  • A willingness to get your hands dirty to solve any problem or progress any opportunity
How we work
Our team thrives on the energy of being together. While technology connects us virtually, we love the in-person collaboration and spend majority of our work week at our spacious (and fully stocked with snacks) Melbourne CBD office.
Like the rest of the team, you’ll benefit from
A competitive salary package, including equity from an early stage;
A balanced, progressive, and supportive work environment;
Excellent parental leave and other leave entitlements;
A fantastic office environment;
Endless learning and development opportunities;
Plenty of fun and social opportunities - we love to come together as a team;
An ability to influence and shape the future of Zeller as our company scales both domestically and globally;
Being part of one of Australia’s most exciting scale-ups.
At Zeller, we are looking for passionate people with drive and integrity. You are encouraged to apply even if your experience doesn’t exactly match this job description.
